CDE Launches Statewide Parent Survey on Education Options & School Choice

CDE Launches Statewide Parent Survey on Education Options & School Choice

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is inviting all Colorado parents and families to share their feedback on school options and educational choices through August 31. This statewide survey, stemming from House Bill (HB) 26-1428, will directly inform upcoming State Board of Education rulemaking, legislative priorities, and resource allocation across the state.

Why Your Feedback Matters

State policymakers are gathering input from families across all schooling models—including traditional public, charter, online, and homeschool programs—to better understand:

  • School Selection: Why parents select specific educational pathways for their children.

  • Resource Needs: Which programs, services, and academic supports families rely on most.

  • Funding & Policy: How state funding and legislative decisions can best support diverse student needs across Colorado communities.

How to Participate

All parents and legal guardians are encouraged to complete the brief online questionnaire prior to the deadline:

Every family's perspective helps ensure that future state policies, funding models, and academic programs accurately reflect the needs of communities state-wide. Please take a few minutes to share your voice and pass the survey link along to other local parents!
